Institute for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine

The proposed 20-acre campus includes for 15,000 sq. m. of science laboratories and related academic facilities to accommodate 50 scientists and 1200 support staff, in an addition to an existing research center at GKVK campus with 12,575 sq. m. of housing for staff and students.  Simultaneously, this campus and its research facilities seek to respond to the local green context of nature as exist on its site, and to create a built environment that will both respect and humanize this context.

 

Every attempt has been made to create an environmentally friendly habitat. All buildings are energy efficient and Griha -5 compliant.  Recognizing the natural beauty and the powerful presence of the existing trees, the urban space around it is transformed to be the central focus of the entire campus. From the campus green, the center of the campus, emanate the three spines that respond to the three zones of the campus- Academic, Residential and Recreational over the entire available site.
